The Narrow Road

BEARING FRUIT

Mat. 3:8-10 - Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not think you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father’. I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

Mat. 7:18-20 - A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

John 15:1-2 - "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

John 15:4 - Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

RIGHTEOUSNESS

Mat. 5:6 - Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Mat. 5:10 - Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Mat. 5:20 - For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Mat. 6:33 - But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Luke 14:14 - and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."

Rom 6:13 - Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness.

Rom. 6:18 - You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

2 Tim. 3:16 - All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

Heb. 5:13-14 - Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

James 1:19-20 - My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.

WICKEDNESS

Eph. 5:6 - Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient.

2 Tim. 2:19 - Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."

James 1:21 - Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.

OBEDIENCE

Acts 5:32 - We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.

Rom. 1:5 - By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: (KJV)

Rom. 2:7 - To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.

Rom. 15:18 - I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done—

1 Cor. 7:19 - Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Keeping God's commands is what counts.

Philip. 2:12-13 - Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

2 Thess. 2:15 - So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.

1 Pet. 1:22 - Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart.

2 Pet. 3:11-12 - Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.

1 John 3:21-22 - Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.

1 John 3:24 - Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

OBEY CHRIST

John 8:31-32 - To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

Heb. 5:8-9 - Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him

Rev. 14 :12 - This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God's commandments and remain faithful to Jesus.

LOVE AND OBEDIENCE

John 14:15-17 - "If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

John 14:21 - Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."

John 14:23 - Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

John 15:10 - If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love.

John 15:14 - You are my friends if you do what I command.
